Diabetic. Needs Advice

Hi
My neighbour is 85 and has been diagnoed as class 2, 7 weeks ago and nothing else has been done nothing from doc or anyone else
No advice on diet,food intake,I have been a class 2 since October 2008 and am trying help but it is hard work trying to get her to understand about her diet as she has a VERY sweet tooth
Rightly or wrong I have tested her blood and it is 14 to 18
She feels tired and lethargic,generaly upset
Who can I contact to get her help,my local diet clinic (which is very good) or her own Doctor

I would try NHS direct .It sounds like her GP isnt too concerned NHS may suggest getting an appointment with a DB clinic or if suggest seeing GP you will then have a reason to take her there and the GP will have to take it seriously.

I'd definitely try NHS direct, but depending on how good you think your local diet clinic is it may be worth giving them a try too. Has the clinic been helpful to you?
