Diabetic or pre diabetic.

Good afternoon I'm a newbie to the group and would like some advice please.
I was diagnosed diabetic in December 2019 with a HBA1c reading of 53. Today I got the results off my annual blood test and the reading is now 45.
My question is am I still considered diabetic or pre diabetic.

First of all congrats on your HbA1c which puts you back in the pre-diabetes zone (42-47).
Once you've crossed the rubicon of 48 & received a formal diagnosis then you are always classed as diabetic I'm afraid.

Your 45 reading is in the pre-diabetic range so well done for reducing it.
Not sure how your surgery would classify you except to probably be amazed that you have managed to achieve this.
You should really be having the tests more often than annually though especially if you are in the UK.
