Many years ago, when I was first diagnosed as type 1 diabetic, I attended a diabetic roadshow where I found out that diabetes can lead to baldness and for a long time this never bothered me.
Over the last few years I have lost a lot of hair and wondered if this has happened to anybody else, and how it has affected them....

My hair had definitely thinned out. I read somewhere if you are taking a lot of insulin that your hair gets thinner!

My hair has deff thinned since I started with Diabetes and it was not that thick before hand...can we claim a wig I wonder ??:P

Suddenly losing a lot of weight loses you a lot of hair and so does going low carb, alas. But if it's only that, it should be a one-off thing and it should start to grow again.

Sustained high blood sugar levels, though - bad news. Hair blood supply effed up.
