Hi,
I have just been given the news that I have severe pre proliferative diabetic retinopathy. I have only had diagnosed diabetes for approximately 2 years. When diagnosed my levels were out of control. However this is so recent I was shocked that I had so much eye damage. Why I don't understand is that before my eye screening I saw two eye consultants because of an unrelated eye injury. Both doctors told me that there were significant changes in my left eye but minimal in my right. This was also mentioned at my scan but both eyes came back graded the same r2m1. I am being sent for OCT but no other treatment at this point. I know there is issues with my left eye but my right eye looked fine. Could this be a mistake? Sorry for the long post.
