Now I only have impaired fasting BG levels, but bearing in mind I have already damage to one retina which has badly affected my vision in one eye through something unrelated to diabetes, are my retinas at risk through only mildly elevated blood sugars? The blurred vision which was one of the reasons I requested the blood test has gone now I am low carbing.
My optician always dilates my pupils because of the problem I have had, I have been signed off by the hospital, should I have my retinas photographed like my mum does, or will this be sufficient?
