I was at the Gp today to get my blood pressure checked as it has been high for a few weeks. I asked the nurse when my diabetic review was due, as it was over a year before I got my review in February this year. The nurse said they have changed the way reviews are taken. It now goes with your DOB. She said my Review would take place on May 2018. I was unhappy and pointed out that as my Reviews was in February and they are not going to check me until May 2018 that means that I will have to wait 15 months. I have to get blood taken in 2 weeks time to see if the new tablets I am receiving for my blood pressure are not damaging my kidney's. I said could they not test my blood then as they were taking blood anyway. She said no. She also said that they are not sure if the new system will work (ie D.O.B.) as they may have an influx and may not be able to cope. I am very disappointed feel the NHS dont care.

Seems to me that if they are going to change your testing regime that would include an 18 month wait they should have given you an interim test THEN started on the new DOB format.
Could you get a private test done? I know there is expense involved but someone has to look after you - and it may as well be you. This is perhaps particularly important as you have other concurrent issues that need monitoring.
Alternatively could you change doctors?
