Diabetic Sweets Good or Bad?

I've just been browsing the internet for recipes an ideas and came across diabetic sweets, jellies and biscuits. There are loads on amazon and I saw mint humbugs in boots. Are these kind of products best avoided or are they ok to trust and have sometimes. The sweets and stuff say sugar free.

Be very wary...

Most of those sweets are sweetened with things that can cause stomach cramps and diarrhoea if you eat more than a few of them :wideyed:

In addition, for some people, those sweeteners push the blood glucose up as if they were sugar. :eek:

In general, I would treat anything labelled 'suitable for diabetics' with deep suspicion. Look for the amount of total carbs, and steer clear if it is high...
 
Thank you. I can't tell you how good the advice has been here. Can't believe how much better I feel already. It's amazing.
