Hi can any one help I'm a 43 year old female who since 2015 have been diagnosed type 2 but this is due to steroids for my asthma., I'm on metformin slow release ment to be 3x a day but when I take it I notice that I'm sweating all day long and and my skin is clammy and I look like I've just got out the shower and it's extremely embarrassing to say the lease.Does this happen to anyone else

What was your last HBA1c ? The long game is to get off Metformin if you can as it has negligible effect on blood sugars or try and reduce the dosage

Hi there, how long have you been taking the Metformin and what is your diet like?
Also, have you thought about the possibility of menopause affecting you or that a combination of pre menopause crossed with Metformin use could be affecting you in this uncomfortable way?
Keeping a detailed diary may help in isolating the cause of your discomfort. Hope it passes soon.

Edited to say that it should read 'perimenopause' rather than pre menopause.

I respect your opinion but it is not the long game for everyone to be off medication.
Metformin may not bring BG down much with out a change in diet, it is how ever beneficial to some women especially those with other conditions like PCOS. Some studies have shown for it to have heart protective qualities as well.
I now have non diabetic numbers and plan on being on Metformin as long as I can because it has been key in helping improve PCOS symptoms.
