Hi I have been suffering from Insulin resisitance for about 10 years and it was controlled by diet but last year I was admitted to hospital for Pan crohns Colitis I was put on cortison for the first 3 weeks was on a liquid diet and hydrocortisone my BGL was always around 4 or 5, but as soon as I started to eat my bgl started to spike. I still take cortison and this still affects my BGL so I am continusly having battles with my BGL because of the cortison and my diet and my Colitis. I take mx insulin in the morning but would like some help in what I should eat, I am finding some food to eat for my diabetes affect my colitis like low GI grains and some vegtables, salads and fruit so it is a daily battle on what to eat either it affects my BGL and/ or my colitis. I also drink Ensure and Modulen IBD to help with my vitamin intake but would like to know If any one on this site have the same problem or if any one can suggest what I can eat I would love to hear from you. Thank you.

anneabell,

As a suggestion I would join a support forum for people with Crohns & Colitis where you may get a better response from members with diabetes, the following forum is UK based:

http://crohns-disease.org.uk/forum/

I found some useful diet info in these blogs might help you
