Maybe an experience gift like driving a racing car on a skid pan or something similar.
Now theres an idea! The only thing is my sons are XL, think The Rock, would he fit into a race car?
I bought my hubby one of those for his 40th. It was at Silverstone, so we made a weekend break of it. Rather than a formula racing car he chose the saloon car. (He had the choice of formula, saloon or 4x4 rally car off road. He loved it. He had a group tutorial first and then several runs round the track. The first run he was a passenger whilst the instructor did the driving, showing him when and where to change gear etc. Then lots more with him driving, but the instructor was a passenger. The final run was back with the instructor driving at top racing speed the whole circuit, just to show him how professionals do it. That was scary. He was fine. Exhilarated in fact. However, two or three of the rest of the group (all 40 something men) threw up as soon as they got out of the car. I loved it, too. I watched from the area where they started from (not the actual pits) . The smell of burning rubber was extremely strong. Very atmospheric though, but nerve racking watching him whiz round those bends at in excess of 120mph..
He loves driving.
Have a google round. You will find something, but that Silverstone one was tremendous. It was, however, 30 some years ago!
God alone knows but my blood sugars have gone crazy of late.Sorry to hear that, John. Are you brewing summat? It's that time of year.

Thanks, lass.
A few years ago, I went to a business jolly involving off-road driving in "traditional"Landrover. Boy, was that fun.
I'll never know if the ponds and puddles we encountered along the way were naturally filled, or maintained for the cutomers, but we did manage to make lots of Landies very, very muddy indeed!
I had driven 4WD car before that day, but more in the styleeee of the Chelsea tractor.
The tales of derring do being related in the pub afterwards were quite,............... creatively enthusiastic let's say.
Did you post this from the air?Hot air balloon ride
