Mine did too and she forgot me one time. Took her 2 hours to find out too! She had been in doubt about taking me with her, for which she would've had to wake me up or leave me alone for 10 minutes. Decided to take me with her after all in case of fire. Got home and started wondering when I would wake up from my nap after 2 hours By that time of course they had taken me in at the grocery store and probably fed me all kinds of inappropriate stuff and everybody had a wonderful time, except for my poor mum who was so embarassed she never told my father.
 

That is what our grocery stores had before the introduction of plastic bags. Small brown paper ones for fruit and veg, and large ones for groceries.

If they get rid of the plastic ones for everything, people will start shouting "Save the trees!" which is one reason I think the stores switched to plastic in the first place.
 
Morning all

We have a proper fruit & veg shop and I try to use it as much as I can. I also take my egg boxes back to him.

Had a quiet but busy day at work yesterday, hoping for the same today.

I consider myself lucky. I recently discovered that I have a proper greengrocers about 3 miles away and I try to make sure that I remember to go their rather than pick stuff up while I'm in the co-op. The amount of veg I can buy for £10 - £15 is encouraging me to do the right thing and support local shops. I also know that they have purchased their products from the new Covent Garden Market in Nine Elms every morning Mon - Sat. Also, if a bag is used, it's paper.
 

We've lost our independent greengrocer and butcher's shop in the village. Just the co-op left.
I've always disliked veg in plastic because I think it just makes it sweat. When I lived in East Yorkshire my house bordered a farm and once a month the farmer set up his farm shop selling his veg and a little meat (mainly pork) and I loved it.
 

That made me laugh, although it isn't really funny, but it reminds me of a friend of mine who was having her new baby Christened with a party afterwards at a local venue. She and her husband left the party and went home in a taxi, only realising they had unintentionally left the baby at the venue when they arrived home. I seem to remember our previous Prime Minister doing something similar with his daughter a few years ago, which of course hit the headlines.
 
Good morning folks.

I have my review this afternnon (yes, almost two weeks after having had the blood draw and having a screaming blue fit over the way this review was foisted onto me). I will get my results and this is fine but the palaver of getting weighed, getting onto and off of the exam table and the possible lecture on statin treatment means I'm already antsy along with the fact that I will be seeing yet another new face (must remember this time to ask if she is a DSN proper).

I hope the rain keeps off and I'm so glad that the smattering of snow we had here lasted only hours and that it seems quite mild today. All this will mean I can go to the surgery in my chair which is far easier not to mention cheaper than an adapted cab.

Whatever happens, I will state that I will not attend another review for at least a year bearing in mind today's result. If, as I hope, there has been further improvement I shall also state my intention of stopping Met and giving a 'not up for debate' on statin use.

I know that some of you may not understand my decisions and it would take far too long to go through them but suffice to say I have reached saturation point with regard to all things medical. I had been feeling more positive about going for the review at the end of last year but *they* put paid to that by forcing me before I was ready.

Sorry if this comes across as a 'Pityme, pity me' post and if I've gone on far too long about it but I needed to vent.

@Guzzler your post doesn't sound at all like "Pity me pity me." It sounds like a strong stand-up-and-fight post, an I'm-not-gonna-take-any-more **** post.

Probably by the time I'm typing this you have been there done that and come home again, I hope it went well and that the new face was a pleasing one.

Someday we'll have to get together for a grumble about getting on and off exam tables.

Good review all told. Improved A1c, better than I had hoped for. Feet, still have two gooduns in fine fettle.
BP, Liver and kidney functions all within parameters.

And then the statin lecture. It all went downhill from there, she wouldn't listen. I'd best not say too much as the way I feel now put into words will make DCUKs software blow a gasket. It's enough to say that this has definitely set me back, I could cry. I'm ready to take a blood oath to never, ever see a HCP ever again.
 
Great news about your blood test results and foot check.

Soz about the statin lecture though. If she was really horrible and bullying you, a complaint to the practice manager might not come amiss. All they should do is advise after taking your wishes into account.
 
It went further than that but I must calm down first. I bought milk chocolate on the way home! Don't worry, I have just given it to middle son, crisis averted.

That 's horrible and I want to hit her for making you feel this way. (I won't, though. I've never hit anyone.)

I found just writing stars to describe people like that *****. *********, **** nurse or the pretty ****** forum software is as satisfying as writing 'bad' words out. With the additional advantage that you don't even have to think about the best bad words to describe a person or situation, the stars do the job just fine!
And it saves the forum computer from overheating and the admins work
