Diabetics R Us

Morning all

Up at absolutely silly o'clock . Thought I might dose on the settee but I've given up after an hour of trying .

Have a good day.

Hi, @heh . It's just after 11 pm here. I'm sorry you can't get to sleep.

I gave up at around 2.45am. Good job I have nowt planned for the rest of friday. It's going to be a long day.

I'm catching up on last night's Eastenders cos I'm bored with the news.

Hows this for coincidence as I said previously our new great niece Ruby was born on 6th April which happens to be my best friends great granddaughter's birthday her name well Ruby of course.

I'm sleeping much better now my finances are more settled. I didn't realise how much I was worrying.
Not now.
I'm just excited for my bariatric operation now. I think I'm fully prepared in my kitchen too.

Had a hairdresser touch my hair after 5+yrs of DIY through the week. Sons have asked for me to keep my hair down more, in future. Hopefully deadends all cut out and ready for just a straightening brushing for maintenance.
Hairdresser recommended kelp to stop hair thinning but I told her nope, my thyroid doesn't react well to it. She is an experienced chopper but no specialist. I enjoyed the girly time regardless.

good for you

I'm catching up on last night's Eastenders cos I'm bored with the news.

US public television stations have imported British TV series for decades but never have they brought us Eastenders. I have heard about it for ages and would love to watch it; also Coronation Street (I think some episodes of that are actually available on YouTube though).

@JohnEGreen that is really amazing about the two Rubys. Maybe one day they will get to meet!

@ickihun good news about your getting better sleep. I have been so stressed out this week fighting with various agencies and organizations trying to get a voucher for an eye exam and a pair of glasses. It is horrible to have so much stress that we are robbed of sleep as well as waking peace. Your new hairstyle sounds lovely. I hope it's easy-care!

I was just thinking ... I've never known a Ruby. It's such a pretty name. I have known a Garnett, a Pearlina, a Jade, and some Ambers; and there was a TV character named Sapphire. And I knew a Jewell. But no Rubys.

Reactions: heh
Forgot to mention doctor's surgery called me on the telling bone yesterday asking me to go in for a blood test as my neurologist is a bit concerned about my kidney function. Went in and the lady taking the blood couldn't get any from either arm so had to call in some one more experienced so needless to say I now am sporting several little holes and a huge bruise as the vein collapsed after they got the sample.

Ouch!

Morning all

We're off in the motorhome today, back Tuesday. Our friends have hired one for the weekend to see if they like it so we're heading off to London for a couple of days

@JohnEGreen I've had a couple of those bruises from blood tests, I think it's down to the skill of the nurse.

I have watched Eastenders from the start, 1985. Coronation Street has been going since before I was born! (I watch that too).

Have a good weekend folks. "See" you next week.

I have that problem - for my pre op last year they tried 3 times in each arm and eventually the third person who attempted it got it out of the back of my hand at his second attempt so I ended up with 8 holes for 4 vials of blood

Lovely and sunny here this morning but cold. Grandson is coming home for the Easter break on Tuesday so I'm looking forward to that.
Got a list of jobs he can be doing while he's got nothing better to do.
