And the advice is to take a B12 supplement? You might as well not bother as take Artificial B12. B12 is one of the most complex vitamin molecules there is and anything artificially produced is not going to behave in the body in the same way as natural B12 in meats. Do yourselves a big favour if you are on Metformin and have a B12 deficiency. Eat a steak once a week and enjoy it.
Wow, I am completely blown away by how ridiculous some of the stuff published on here is. Is this really supposed to help? Article "Research claims that diabetics should take more vitamin B12 daily" http://bit.ly/sdvW1t. So what proportion of the target group were vegetarians? I'm guessing the answer to that simple question might go some way to explaining this result. Anyway, vitamin B12 is only found naturally in meats, eggs, some dairy products. In certain circumstances, something similar can be chemically synthesised by yeast and this is how B12 supplements are manufactured. If you tell diabetics to eat less meat, as current medical opinion does, then is it at all surprising that the target group has a B12 deficiency. I mean is anyone really shocked by that? And the advice is to take a B12 supplement? You might as well not bother as take Artificial B12. B12 is one of the most complex vitamin molecules there is and anything artificially produced is not going to behave in the body in the same way as natural B12 in meats. Do yourselves a big favour if you are on Metformin and have a B12 deficiency. Eat a steak once a week and enjoy it.
