My blood sugars via my monitor has gone up to 7.9 8.8 I'm on antibiotics normally it's 6.9
Can antibiotics spike blood

Thanks

It’s quite possible, antibiotics are normally taken to fend off an infection, now I know than an infection would definitely put my blood sugars up ,

Yes both infection and antibiotics can cause an increase in blood glucose levels. Generally they settle again when the infection is over and the course of treament finished, though could take a week or two. Keep testing BG regularly, drink plenty of non-sugary fluids.
Get well soon.
