Hi there, I am writing as I don't know where else to ask, and doctors are rubbish;and well it's so much easier to type then run up the doctors.

My fiance is 45 and has to have a heart operation and a new arterie from his leg. he's never had any diet info as such just what not to eat and we are wondering what on earth he CAN eat? he was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes before he got with me 2 years ago (think he was diagnosed 5 years)

He needs to lose weight to have his op but I cannot get no sense out the doctors! they say what he cant have and there's nothing he can have!

He's on the sick at the moment (we did have a good business, man and van and hedge cutting) and were doing well so and were not putting on much weight, but now we are finding it hard. The doctors have gave him loads of heart medication so it hurts when he walks..

Would love to find out what I can make him that doesn't involve a cooker as ours broke And we will be getting a new one in june.. but any help would be great.

im exhausted and fed up with doctors. so will be relying on you lovely lot. thank you

Claire

Yes, Totto's links are a great start.

It is a very different way of eating, but you never need to be hungry, and it makes you feel much better, sleep better AND lose weight. Definitely worth the effort.

It goes without saying that he should discuss any dietary or lifestyle changes with his cardiology team, just remember MissChelsea we are not healthcare professionals on this forum.
