Customer helplines that use recorded menus that promise to put me through to the right person but never do - and being ill. Oh, and did I mention customer helplines :)
For specific medical problems your mum should talk to her doctor. But in the meantime you may like to show her the Basic Information For Newly Diagnosed Diabetics, whether newly diagnosed or not the information may help her adjust her diet.
You're mum should see her GP if she's having pain when passing urine as this could have nothing to do with her diabetesg. It could be an infection. If she isn't being helped with her diet, as I wasn't, she can ask to see a dietician. People seem to think that only type 1's are entitled to outside help, as I at first did, and battled with my diet on my own, but not the case. Your mum is entitled to see one.
I to suffered pain when passing water.I had a water infection caused by the diabetes I didn't know I had . Your mum really needs to go back to the doctor and explain her problem as she may need some tests or antibiotics.
You can find a lot of information on this forum about diet and what may work for her but first get her to see her doctor about this problem as the two may not be related. :?
A say of a medical expert is really needed in situation like this. Diet for diabetic patients is vital for the treatment of the said disease. Whether it is Type I, Type II diabetes or Gestational diabetes, keeping blood glucose is the goal in achieving its level.
