I have started another job,it's only for 3-4 weeks. It is a active day,on your feet, sometimes running about,pretty physical!!
I take some malt loaf,banana & maybe a hot x bun as well as a roll for lunch & yoghurt. Was just wondering if there was anything better to eat that would give me energy but not overly fatty

Fruit, bananas are good and they are a powerhouse of nutrition. Oat based crackers are good too as they release energy more slowly than your malt loaf & hot x bun. Just remember if your going to be more active than normal you may need to cut back on your insulin slightly or eat more carbs.
How about Rye bread (Lidl sell it so do Texco). Its an aquired taste but if toasted slightly first before eating, it mskes a sandwich and although highish in carb, it releases more slowly and tends to suppress appetite

Hey Jessd, Don't fear the fat! 'good fats' are an excellent energy source and won't spike your glucose and insulin levels. Pairing a healthy fat and carbohydrate together will reduce the rate of glucose absorption also.
Anyway a few good snacks are, greek yoghurt, blue berries, almonds, cashew nuts, avocado. As mentioned here Rye breads are good and also go well with avocado and chicken, for a great sandwich.

Thanks, can you give some examples if good fats. Today I took banana, yoghurt & cheese sandwich on Burgen bread, hoping to get to supermarket before Tuesday. Had a low today, took 3 Lucozades & then had yoghurt! My other half picked me up some oat cakes,so will try them. Making sure I have a decent breakfast,porridge or eggs

Just wondered if anyone had any suggestions what I could take for lunch
Currently it's a cheese sandwich (2 slices whole meal bread) yoghurt,maybe some almonds,oatcake or malt loaf
Like I say active job so pretty hungry by lunchtime & want to have something good but don't want to go mad on carbs. Will say though even when I take my sandwiches,most I have to give for lunch is 3 units tops,think I'm obviously burning it off,which is a plus
