difference in meter readings

this question has probably been asked many times,but here goes,my daughter got me a freestyle insulinx monitor,and I already had a bayer contour usb monitor,now me being me wanted to see if both the meters showed the same reading as each other,so did blood test from same site using same blood the freestyle gave a 7.1 reading the bayer gave 9.4 which one do I believe carried out test control on the bayer contour and the reading was 7.1 with in its spec any ideas
 
The answer to this is not to compare meters. They all have a tolerance. If you are not sure if they are reading the correct numbers, then get some control fluid and see if it comes in the parameters set by the meter manufacturer.
 
went on a uni open day with my son( who rarely get mentioned in my posts). was talking to a prof in pharmacology and he had just been testing bm machines with some others....no results yet.... but at least its good to know someone is trying x
