Ive been heavily involved with sport all my life and I always hate deciding what I should take while exercising, e.g snacks, glucose monitor and I hate always testing my blood when im covered in mud, rain etc it slows me down, and the team. When I play away from home I take backups of Insulin, injections , needles etc just incase anything happens to them what are other people like?

I don't participate in sport much now, I go for the gentle option of walking and cycling. Here is a good site that many sport minded people with diabetes use.

It's never bothered me, but maybe because of my age at diagnosis I just got on with it. I used to do quite a lot of sport, played rugby and rowed for my school, plus badminton, squash & windsurfing. Now just stick to cycling and am totally addicted to skiing. I would probably have more difficulty now with contact sports considering the various gadgets attached to me (!), but it was never a problem on MDI - grabbing a quick snack beforehand or 30 seconds for a blood test whenever?
