DISABILITY LIVING ALLOWANCE FOR 16 YEAR OLDS

We also received the same form as my son will be 16 in April also. I did ring them to find out if me as a parent/carer should fill in the form as he is still a minor and I was told yes I fill it in like I have done in the past.

I finally finished and posted it yesterday so fingers crossed. I have read that some have been refused at a younger age and appealed so I wait in hope.

ma son was refused after me getting help with form he turns 16 in june has been refused care and dla he is type 1 suffers from migranes and allergys astma and exema .when got explanasiom said that becuse he dosent suffer from dizzyness well on the form they were told he suffers bad hypos ect and still bein refused so hopefully the appeal will help :sick:

I didn't you can get paid for being diabetic. I have type 1 and had 2 mtrs of bowel removed a year ago due to blood clot to pancreas, have an arm still broken from last year, take 24 tablets a day, numerous injections, have to take warfarin to prevent future clots and generally feel rubbish, but still go to work full time. The government already seek to reduce diabetes funding as it is. I can't see it happening to be honest. I'm not being critical, just trying to be realistic. Hope he feels better soon, sounds like he's having a tough time. We all do sometimes, but at least you clearly care about him and his wellbeing.
