Disability Living Allowance

Hi everyone i have just applied for disability living allowance, was curious to find out if anyone else on here gets it and how much as i am hoping to apply for a motability car

If your diabetes has led to complications, you should get it, but it's very unlikely otherwise.
I definitely wouldn't. But don't need it.

Jak, this site has questionnaires which will give you a fair idea as to whether or not you qualify. As hanadr says, you need to have fairly severe problems before you'll get anything, diabetes alone doesn't qualify.

how much you get depends on the level of your needs. What your health problems are and how far you can walk unaided/with sticks etc before having to stop. The tests are very stringent and could take a while to sort out.

I know what you mean gillyh, my mum is registered blind, can't walk anywhere without her stick, has arthritis in her shoulder and has nerve damage in her feet - and she still only gets the lower rate for mobility!

You really need professional help filling in those forms ,they are a mine-field!!

I need to go to my local carers' centre - they helped me fill out my son's application form when we first claimed and they were brilliant. Now i've got a new form to fill out cos he's going to be 16 in September (groan!)
