I have been eating low carb for two weeks and have eaten no sugar. week 1 I lost 2 llbs this week only 1 llb. I know its going the right way but I would have hoped to have lost a bit more than that.

I have ordered some more test strips and next week will start testing everything I eat. I have been walking but next week will use the cross trainer too.

Is there anything else I can do?

Congrats at least you have lost. In the 2 years I've been eating low carb and walking I haven't lost a lb, or even an ounce. Just keep going, because you have no other options. Also drink plenty of water at least 1 1/2 a day. Do include your cups of tea and coffee.

Dear Aqualung,
Well done at reducing you weight. The max target should be 2lb or less/week and so far you have done very well. Any weight loss can be most benificial so don't be too dissapointed with the 2nd weeks reduction of 1lb.

Also be cautious about cutting out carbohydrates as our human bodies were designed to process carbs as a food item, though reducing them does have good benifits, particularly those with a high GL, but carbs should not be cut out altogether. Also drink plenty of fluids (plain water) as this helps.

Don't get too dissapointed, it takes time, sometime many weeks for the body to re-adjust to a change in diet/exercise lifestyle, and in the long term it's better to loose weight in a slow steady progressive manor than to loose weight rapidly which can lead to further problems with the body.
 
Thank you dawnmc and lazybones, I know the weight is going down and it isn't a quick fix and this is what I have to get my head round. I need to get some control back and test my bs otherwise I am working in the dark. I was very proud of myself the other evening when I refused a piece of chocolatey thing probably made with condensed milk :D
 
I wouldn't worry about being cautious about carbs, they are in your vegetables, its the processed stuff that's loaded with it and the low fat stuff. Basically only eat what your ancestors would recognise as food.
 
We'll done for loosing some weight probably if you loose 1lb a week that's about right. I wish I could put on a bit of weight I'm only 8st 10/12 lb
I have decided I will only test twice a day at breakfast and evening meal and leave it out at lunch and after snacks I don't want it to become an obssesion
