Disposal of used strips and lancets

Hi,
Started testing myself last week and it seems to be going ok. On holiday at present but going back to work in ten days. How do peopke dispose of their used strips and lancets, if changed, when out and about or at work?
Bought meter and strips myself so at present strips go in bin at home and have not changed lancet yet.
Thanks

When I used the single lancets, I used the cap you twist off and put it on the used one. I saved them up in a container and when I had a lot of them I got rid of them at my GP's surgery treatment rooms. One of the Sisters emptied the container in to their Sharps bin.

The strips I put in the waste basket under my computer desk where the used tissues go.

I now have a Accu Chek Multiclix lancet device, which has six lancet in a magazine, the used ones are retracted and cannot be got retrieved with out using a hammer on the old magazine.

Personally, I retain an old strip container with a "Used" label and use this for the strips. The lancets, I use the lid from the new lancet to protect the old lancet, and store them in a zip lock bag. When I have sufficient, they go on the garden fire for safe destruction.

Thanks I have a codefree and will take an old empty container for strips as suggested above. In schools much of the time and don't really want to put the strips in a bin kids might go near.
