Hi, I'm sorry if this has been asked and answered before, the search seems to bring up all manner of weird posts when I search for it, for months I've been dizzy when crouching, the longer I crouch the worse I feel when I stand, I've taken my Bp straight after this and my Bp is fine I take lispinodril for Bp , well now it's happening when I get up from chairs, it's getting ridiculous, my bgs are ok, I'm low carbing and exercising, lost a lot of weight and take metformin I'm t2, any ideas? I'm going for a1c on wednesday and who knows if doc will want to see me if he does I'll mention it, I just wondered if you all know if this is normal, or maybee my bgs where high and now they are low my bodies just not used to it etc?.Thanks

Ps, it's all the time day and night regardless if I have eaten or not regardless of bg levels

Hi Andy12345, It does sound to me like you are having a drop in Blood Pressure, I know that you said you take it and it's fine but best to be sure. When you go to have HbA1C test I would definately mention it and get your BP taken at the surgery, perhaps manually. If you have lost weight maybe the dose of Lisinapril will need to be reviewed

hi thankyou, ok i read that link, and i did an experiment i was sat and relaxed and took my bp with my omron m7 bp machine and i was 115/65 which about normal for me lately (250/125 when diagnosed in feb) so i crouched down for a minute then pressed go to inflate the cuff then stood up when the cuffed reached max and let it deflate while standing feeling a little dizzie
bp was 83/60 do you think this was because im not supposed to take bp while doing this or that i have a problem? thanks

I take Ramipril for BP and had never had any problems however, the UK version I had been taking were Blue and White capsules, when I changed to a Spanish doctor they too prescribed Ramipril which I thought was great until I picked up the pills. The pills are small pink oval tablets and not the capsules I am used to. I queried this with the diabetic nurse who said they are a generic version and will work the same. For around a week I had dizzy spells when standing up from a crouched position, I have never had anything like that before. I asked the doctor and he said they were not such a slow release as the capsules but I would get used to them. To be honest I have not had any more dizzy spells, perhaps your have been given the same pill but a different brand with a different action? Some of the cutbacks to the Spanish health system has seen them buying in generic brands of most drugs apparently, is the UK also doing the same thing?

regards

Dave

I also live in Spain and I have had many problems with the health system changing medication to the generic version
When you have been taking the same pills for a few years and they suddenly change them it causes problems. I think UK probably doing the same. Unfortunately this is the state of the E.U
