I'm afraid it's the other way around...
Immediately I started Metformin I started to become dizzy, on occasions. Not all the time obviously .... or I would have been in hospital!
I read about Metformin SR, on this site - so I asked the doctor if I could try it - it wasn't offered to me by the doctor when I mentioned the dizziness at first.
This was better but still I'm slightly dizzy sometimes. I'm a female pensioner.
Recent results: Hbalc 6.1, Pre breakfast 5.3, BP 128/88, Total cholestrol 4.73, Hdl 1.16, LDL 2.8, ACR 1.5. Apparently these are good results for someone my age.
According to the internet, dizziness looks like a consistent pattern for some people on Metformin.
I'm happy that this drug is readily available but wanted to know what to suggest to the doctor the next time I visit. Because unless I'm armed with some alternative the chances are I won't get one.
