Greetings! I just joined this forum and have already found some encouragement! Here's my question -I just had a bad blood sugar day -woke up with blood sugar over 300 saw my endocrinologist who tweaked my pump settings and sent me on my way -now it's 400. (I had called in sick to work as I felt ******!). When I left her office I had a tire that was badly in need of air so I had no choice but to go to tire place on my way home. I sat there for over 2 hrs while they finally looked at my tire and pulled out the nail and arched it. Now blood sugar is 520. I feel horrible. This is all after letting my pump use it's program to bolus to correct my sugars all day and it just goes up. Finally I get home and change my pump site pitch the insulin I had used before and opened a new one. Called my doc who wanted me to go to the ER but she consented to give me 2 hrs to see if it came down. It did as I kept testing and let the pump do the work. It ultimately crashed to 49. Ugh! Anyway that was 4 days ago. Sugars are good and steady. But I'm EXHAUSTED! Is this normal? I am going to check for ketones today but now kind of wishing I wasn't so stubborn and gone to the ER. Is exhaustion normal? Because I'm thinking I might have been in DKA but was able to correct at least the sugars.
