DKA

Hi everyone,

I'm 29 years old and been a type 1 diabetic for 25 years. Normal weight, last HBA1C was at 7.4 however I was hospitalised a month ago with my first ever DKA, only a short period, it was due to a pump malfunction, but since then I haven't had a period, I'm now 10days late, which is really unusual for me, is this normal? And when do I start worrying?

Perhaps too obvious a question, but have you ruled out pregnancy?
I don't know much about keto-acidosis, but I guess someone with more knowledge will come along soon

Lol yes I've done 3 pregnancy tests over the past week and all are negative x

DKA is a huge shock for your body. So it could well just take a while to settle down again. Book a doctor's appointment or call your DSN for a check to reassure you.
