I've been type 1 Diabetic for 10 years when first diagnosed my insulin was Nova mix thirty for ten years I went from 22 units a day to 80 units twice a day 2 years ago my local hospital took a look at my diabetes and instantly said I should be on Nova rapid and lantus since the change my blood levels are great but I would just like to ask because I don't blame my GP but that's my nature just wondered if anyone thinks my GP was wrong and maybe should have took another look at my treatment

Yes, I think when you insulin needs started to increase significantly they should have referred you over to the care of your hospital diabetes team, some gp surgery's do have Dr's who specialise in diabetes, if your Dr wasn't one of them then he should have passed you over to the one that does.
