I take mine in the morning also, but to put that into context, I don't use either of those meds you use, but I know they have an effect on things like blood glucose levels for example. So, that may be helpful to you and it may be of utterly useless value too.
You might want to look up some of the supplements you are taking.... some can interfere with sleep when taken late. VitD could be on of them for example.
I find supplements often have an initial effect on blood sugars, but then it either changes the condition or we compensate for them, and you may find that when you stop a supplement, you may not see any change in levels.
I am using Bitter Melon and Gymnema Sylvestre as replacement for 2 Metformin and Gliclazide doses I decided to drop. So far my bgl remains much the same, but I do get sharper rises and drops after meals. Note: this is with GP involvement, and I have tested both supplements separately in the past so I know what effects they introduce.
I also take D3 while Covid is rampant and I am house-locked. I occasionally take magnesium and Chromium picolinate as supps but these are ones that only have an effect if you have a deficiency.
I take supplements (would have to go and remind myself because I confuse the B and D with various numbers).
I take my Metformin as a split dose. Two pills in the morning and two after meal in late afternoon or early evening.
I take some supplements in the morning and some in the evening.
Fish oil and Vitamin C in the morning.
Vitamin something in the evening.
Special mix for eye health in the evening.
I take the supplements at the same time as the Metformin because simple routine.
I also use the Metformin packs as a cross check. Should be the same number of pills up and down stairs at the end of the day. I think I miss about one evening dose a month.
Don't be fooled. It may not be as simple as that. Two years ago I stayed in hospital for an operation, and they stopped all my medications cold turkey. I was on hospital food and it soon became apparent that I was actually In Remission and able to eat normally. This was pronounced by my heart specialist and backed up by the diabetes consultant. You have dropped metformin and gliclazide for supplements? & its helping you? Great news.
Personally i only take D3 & magnesium because it has helped me so much. / unfortunately my blood sugars take a few hours to come down but that's life. Monday it will all change i will go gym and get better readings i hope.
If you are trying to control type 2 eating oranges probably is not a good idea.I remember when taking B6 it definitely had a effect to my blood sugars. It lowered it; vitamin C personally i avoid that in supplement form but i can get it from oranges; my blood test is on Monday so hopefully my A1c has improved
