Don't be fooled. It may not be as simple as that. Two years ago I stayed in hospital for an operation, and they stopped all my medications cold turkey. I was on hospital food and it soon became apparent that I was actually In Remission and able to eat normally. This was pronounced by my heart specialist and backed up by the diabetes consultant. However, a move to a different hospital and the operation itself put paid to that, and I had to go back onto meds. But it may be that I am hovering around the same sweet spot now. The supplements may not actually be doing anything except burning a hole in my bank balance. I am eating potatoes now for instance and my sugar levels are not spiking like they used to.
