Do we think visualisation can help heal the body?

I've got as far as Pluto and I still can't find the pale - that's how far it is for me!!

I'm all for anything that makes anyone feel better within themselves and positive thinking is great, it really is. But to say you can visualise away an illness........ this forum will cease to exist in a few months if we all sit and imagine a wonderful pancreas, working as it should. Not for me this one, I'll put it down to the human body being a wonder of nature.

That said, I may do a little experiment to retain a little open mindedness. I've been trying to dip under 6mins for a mile which would equate to 22.5secs for 100mtrs. Now, if I only run 100mtrs I should be able to get down to, what, 15secs maybe? So, if I start visualising me beating Usain Bolt in the Olympic final now, I could just do it!! Gold for Britain!!

So, sorry, to answer the question: I have no experience of it.

One thing I would say in our culture we seem to accept that a negative frame of mind can make us unwell more easily that we agree that a positive state of mind can make us well ... perhaps that says something about our culture

That's a good very point, I'm a firm believer that keeping a positive frame of mind is pivotal to good health but whether visualisation can cure cancer......... I really don't know :?
