Do you think Banting and Best were good people?

I want to argue with someone about Banting, Best and the discovery of insulin. They saved my life (and since you're on this forum, they probably saved your life too), so I treat them like gods, but when I read their biographies, I want to say "what kind of bad people are you (the rest of the words on this forum are censored), guys!" OK, I admit that I idealized them too much as heroes of the two World Wars and the people who gave me most of my life, but the fact that a person saved my life does not make him a good person, does it? Just argue with me on this topic, please!
 
The things that matters most is not who discover insulin but how can we use it to live a fairly better life.

The arguments will not take you anywhere.

I believe no one has the full truth.

it is clear that every person sometimes does not behave very well, and to condemn someone for sometimes trying to explain his point of view not with words, but with his fists would be stupid, but, the development of biological weapons?! What the hell, Fred?!
 
What people do and what people are can be so different. Nobody is all good or all bad. It's up to us to accept and celebrate what is good in our eyes and perhaps try to understand that the same people -all people - people will sometimes do what we find unpleasant or consider to be "wrong".
 
If it was Jimmy Saville who invented insulin shots you'd still use them.

Of course, even if Hitler had discovered insulin, we would still have used it. In general, I don't even strongly object to the fact that people working in unit 731 were not shot. I just have a very strong idealization of doctors just because they saved my life. that feeling when you want to see only the best in a person
Banting and Best are at least war heroes, and they both drew beautifully in general, they are not such bad people, I just want to talk to someone about this topic
 
Yes, u can talk about them and admire them.

They did great works.
