I thought that a diet tracker might be useful so I joined My Fitness Pal. It became apparent that when members add food to the database, that they don't always bother with more than calories and fat so the tracker wasn't that useful. Anyone else found this ?

I Googled for nutrition software, found a review if the best ten but the top four seemed to be US only. I've ended up with Diet Organizer (#5) downloaded to my laptop. I can add new food and nutritional data which is helpful.

Anyone know anything else I can use ?

I'm guessing there is a UK version of the Calorie King website - I think they also have a tracking component. I mainly just use the Australian version to track my own macronutrients but don't use the diary side of their site.

I have been using Fitday.com, on and off for at least a decade. The basic database provides a full nutritional breakdown, including macronutrients, but I have to admit I have not been as vigilant when adding new foods - although labels usually only list macros anyway. It may not be the best or most modern tracker out there, but I'm used to it and it serves me well (when I actually use it)

We use http://www.weightlossresources.co.uk. It's got an extensive list of products and ingredients, is dead easy to use and create recipes and allows you to see all the data you might want. It does come with a monthly charge, but the result is that the food database is properly curated and anything new is checked out before being made public. Actually a very good option if you ask me. It's the branding more than anything that annoys me!

The summary page looks like this, which I find really useful:
