Doctors are a joke

Anyone else's doctors just don't have a clue? My kidney has been aching a little bit so this morning I rang up my doctors to make an appointment. I rang at dead on 8am when they open, didn't get through til about 8:20, and by then, there were no appointments left. They asked me to come in and do a wee sample. I went there about 10.am, and they told me they'd definitely let me know sometime this morning. I said ok can you please make sure you do as I have diabetes etc, she said ok. It's now gone 3, I rang up at 2:30 and they still hadn't checked it the guy just said they'll ring me to let me know :/ sorry rant
 
I dont know about Great Britain But here in Denmark each doctor has at least 1800 patients so there is a lot to check on and remember and some day there are a trafic jam of apointments

It really doesn't help to get robed off this way. You have a genuine concern & understand how serious it could be, so you did the right thing, to get checked out... and that's how they treat you! That's not on.

There's definitely not that many people where I live. This doctors are always messing things up. Never give people appointments. Always messing up my prescriptions. The list goes on haha think I'm gonna change doctors

I know, it's just annoying having to wait around etc, when all they have to do is dip it quickly. I wouldn't mind so much if the woman didn't tell me they'd let me know earlier today

Unfortunately also private healthcare has "issues". One day or another I'll tell you when I tried to use contact lenses instead of eye glasses and wasted 1000€.
From what I have seen unfortunately you have to find a GP with a clue, with a secretary with a clue and possibly with a nurse with a clue. British people call this postcode lottery...
I've just changed my GP due the low clue levels of the secretary, as I've have written elsewhere.
Luckily the change if I remain in the same "local health authority" requires a 5 minute form compilation on a website, If I dare to change authority I have to fall back to some paper forms that have to be signed by the new GP and a queue in an office, nothing too complex anyway. (I suppose it's because one uses IBM mainframes and the other uses Windows servers to manage the patients ;-) I could spot when the clerk is using a 3270 emulator or a VB6 program ;-) )
 
Also there are 3 parts to a UA: dipstick (fast, nitrate+ indicates probably bacterial infection), micro (lab tech does this), and C&S (takes 48 hrs).

This is what I was thinking.. Normally any blood & urine samples are sent to a lab & the results come back in 2days..

@Chloesnavy , did they take a blood sample too?

Don't belive all the republican "hogwash" you get fed over there!
To be fair. My last surgery was fantastic. My DSN would text or phone results through.. It was almost like having my own "personal assistant."

Don't knock it till you've tried it at it's best...
 
doctors , you havnt met mine yet. 2 years ago the dvla ,Swansea asked my GPto do a medical because I was a type 1 diabetic with a 3 year driving licence, there paid him £2oo, before I went I went to an optition for a eye test report. during the medical he asked me to read from the eye chart on his surgery wall. which I did,he then said the optition was way out ? 3 days later he sent me a letter requesting a ECG I didn't turn up then he got funny telling me that if I don't get the Ecg he would contact the dvla Swansea and stop me getting my licence back, so I went to arrange a ECG only to find , he done the ECG in the next room ? then he realised I wasn't there for a HGV driving licence it was a renewal of a driving licence for a car
 

well not really funny at the moment but how dement can a GP be before it is too much where he loose his job..

No, all they had to do was dip it and then ring me to see if there was any bacteria. That's the bit I was waiting for and they told me to wait for. Turns out I do have a kidney infection
 
Then they will culture it and do sensitivity discs to make sure the organism is covered by antibiotic. Which it almost always is.

That's bad news about the infection. But at least you now know..

Keep a close eye on your blood sugars, drink plenty of water.
& get well soon!
 
Do you have the app manage my health
We have that in nz an you sign papers an you get to get all bloods urine scans etc at the same time as the doctor
It's fantastic
 
So who is it that needs new glasses??????
