This is probably a silly question, but.....

Over not so distant summer months I was indulging in the odd bit of ice cream and alas, have put on about 3-4 pounds. Having being previously well controlled, over the last few weeks, my levels have not been as good as usual. Could this be due to the few pounds I have gained? Can just a few pounds really make a difference? When I last asked my dietician this, she didn't think so. But she also said that as long as hba1c o.k, after meal spikes were not dangerous!:banghead:
I have also been suffering undue worry and disrupted sleep due to incompetent tradesmen carrying out home improvements at the mo. I know that stress can make things worse but will I be able to regain control again?
I hope so, starting to panic a bit now:nailbiting:

sound like stress, workmen, dirty house etc..have you thought about taking up drinking ?
I actually did! This did not help. Despite what everyone tells me about it helping to lower blood sugar, it doesn't seem to work for me, in fact it makes me worse. Had 2 (large) glasses of scrummy red wine last night and have felt rough all day today, so am laying off for a bit. I think it was a dodgy bottle!

I normally blame food poisoning. I think the trick is to stay drunk, you only get a hangover when you stop drinking :hungover:

take this as a signal to get back on track, use it as the determination to get rid of those few pounds, remember stress is in your mind not your body, choose to not be stressed, whatever stress your going through really wont matter next week/month/year, think about what getting stressed is doing to you and try to stay calm, concentrate on getting those bloods down, the rest will sort it self out.... or tell me to mind my own business lol

I think you might have got hold of the wrong end of the stick. Low blood sugar is a symptom of a hangover since the liver will not supply glucose while it is sorting out the alcohol. It can't do two things at once. During drinking (before the hangover) any sugar in the drink can raise the level and in my case, once the hangover is over, it takes a couple of days without drink to get my normal lower readings back.

I doubt a couple of pounds like that would do it, most peoples weight fluctuates within that range, it's not like you have put on stones :)
