Does a low battery on glucometer give inaccurate results?

I have always had perfect fasting levels and ever since the low battery symbol has showed up, my fasting levels are high - I'm hoping that it's just the battery that needs to be changed - I'm scared to replace the battery incase the levels are still high :-/
Has this happened to anyone else?

I can't say it has, I wouldn't imagine the low-battery would effect the working/accuracy of the meter but I really couldn't say for sure, ring the meter manufacturer and request some new batteries (which are free) and whilst on the phone ask them the same question.
