Me tooooo!! You are not alone. I have been diagnosed type 1 for just over two years...I finally seem to have my moods under control. Keeping my levels steady has been relatively easy. Its the mental side I have struggled with. It is a LOT to come to terms with, no matter how well you appear to be coping, it is a shock and it is hard work.... Believe me when I say it does get easier and the moods do get easier but you need to help yourself...you need to explain to your partner and help them understand. I would be fine the one minute and then my boyfriend would leave - to go make a cup of tea for example - and then when he came back I would be irritable as hell and cause on argument for no reason. He has been amazingly supportive though. It wasn't just him, at several points I felt like quitting my job just through the fact I was irritated by my colleagues...!!! It really does get easier but stick with it and try and find a coping mechanism...find a way to realise you are getting stressy and take a time out....It worked for me....but it did take almost a year for the moods to subside. Stick with it!! Feel free to message me if you want to talk...I have been diagnosed since nov 2012 and yet to find many people my age (mid twenties) who were diagnosed at a similar age !!
