Type 1 Does anyone feel if there sugars low? And its no?

Yes, I get this problem too. It depends on the circumstances. When I'm definitely going hypo, I do know, but if I just feel vaguely unwell or sad or out of sorts, I can't be sure whether it's hypo or hyper ( or neither!) and have to test before I know. I feel a bit cheated when I guess wrong. :)

I find when I have been running high sugars for a while, I can have what feels like a hypo but it is not a proper hypo of below 3.8mml. But I find I have to treat it still to feel alright. I would however have a snack rather than sugar on these occasions. When I have a hypo I do not always get warning symptoms until blood sugar is 2mmls. By then I have about one minute to get help. I start to have glucogel which I keep in various points of the house. Then someone will help me with things if it gets worse, which it usually does.

About 15 years ago the doctors at the hospital and the gps used to say you were not hypo and to just leave things without eating. But I did not listen because when I did it usually dropped quickly into a full blown hypo.

When I had good warning symptoms, I used to work out if it was a 4 going down or a 4 going up by the symptoms but now I have only warnings occasionally at not at the initial stages of a hypo.So I test. I cannot say I am hypo when I test and find I am 14 following similar symptoms to hypo. Often when this happens I am usually poorly with a virus or infection.
My advice is keep a log when you are feeling like it and what your blood sugars are and discuss with your doctor or endocrinologist.
Oh and one last thing. After a hypo you can feel hypo even if your sugar level has gone up. It is possible to overtreat a hypo and still be feeling unwell for an hour or longer depending on the severity of the hypo.

I have had times in the past when I have thought I was hypo and I have actually been around 8, seems to happen to most folk.

Thank you i was panicking about it but now i know its just normal i always over treat a hypo because i panick so much and just want it away. My levels are always.high because im so scared.to go into.a hypo incase i fall.asleep and dont wake up as i am myself or if its during the day i panick so much ot escalates into a panick attack xx

I usually have a butterflies feeling in my stomach when my bs is getting low and when I check most of the time it is. There are times however when I get the feeling and it is high, funnily enough it happened the other day and mine was also 14.3. I must admit it does annoy me, instead of having an excuse to have something to eat to bring it up I end up having to take more insulin to bring it down.
I don't know why that similar feeling happens.

carbs because about 2 hours later my blood sugar drops really low.....perhaps my body is trained after 47 years being a diabetic!!!!!!!!!!! Still hate
