You know, David, from 7.9 to 4.7 is nothing to worry about. I know we are given all sorts of ideals to aim for, but a fluctuation of 3.2 mmols is not really much more than any non-diabetic might get. By my reckoning, those are both fine readings. If your before meal test was over 10 and you usually get low 4s or 5s, then it might be worth a thought, but 7.9 is cool - even on a hot day.smeatons said:Hi Anna,
Well just tested now before eating, feeling cool and my number is 4.7, unlike earlier when I was hot before lunch and 7.9... you really couldn't make this stuff up!
thanks again,
David
Ref: our site none seem to look on there :roll:Hot weather can increase the risk of hypoglycaemia, but there are plenty of precautions you can take. Hyperglycaemia can also be a problem in hot weather. People with diabetes should test more regularly in hot weather and adjust their water/food or insulin levels accordingly

Well I thought I was drinking more but ankles (or cankles as my hubbie calls them) are swollen. Drank couple of litres. Sports day today. Out on field all day - bliss. Had to teach sign language for 2 half hour slots at end of day so not ideal as kids wanting to go home. Had massive salad with salmon and glass of chilled white with coffee and 2 squares of dark choccie. Yum! Feel guilty about wine (small glass) ! Going for walk! Bs 7.8 not bad after food. It was 6.7 before I ate which is too high for me.Are you drinking enough in the warmer weather @skandichic?
