Does miaomiao require a smartphone?

I am thinking about buying miaomiao and i would like to use it with apple watch 4

I have the following doubt:
¿Can you use miaomiao + apple watch without the need to hace the iphone at all times ?

I mean, what if you forget your iphone at home? Or run out of battery? Does the miaomiao directly connects to the watch or an iphone in between is always needed?

Iver heard about a sonysmartwatch that can work with miaomiao without the need of a smartwatch in between, but id like to know if the same setup is possible using apple watch (without an iphone or ipad)

If you’re using an Apple Watch, you need an iPhone to collect the data from the MiaoMiao.
