Does pneumonia vaccine raise bg?

I feel ropey today

My bg at 8.30 am was 9.3 (it's usually around 7 on waking)

Had a cheesy omelette for beakfast and by noon my bg was 8.3

I had the pneumonia vaccine at lunchtime yesterday. Could there be a connection?

I am a recent T2 on LCHF and 1 x metformin per day. I feel like punching someone. Thanks for any advice.
 
Absolutely yes, the flu jab can do the same in some people.

Thank goodness for that!

I feel so ****. Weird to think that until recently I felt like this all the time and didn't realise. I will do some exercise as soon as I get home from work to try to sort it out.

Certainly can do - flu jabs also spike the blood sugar levels too .
My pneumonia jab did - lasted 3-4 days
Felt awful like you say but it was only temporary thankfully
 
Hi I had this recently and felt awful and bs levels high laster day and half xxx
 
When I had pneumonia jab it didn't affect my BG but it did make me feel awful. Doubt I'll have another one !

I was told the flu jab was annual and the pneumonia was a one-off that would do me for life. Thankfully, I decided against having them on the same day so now I know which one is the troublemaker.

Waking blood today was 8.
Five hours later and it is only down to 7.7 despite one metformin and a lchf breakfast

I wish it would go away. My weekly bg average is stuffed. Oh well, better than catching pneumonia.

Hi I was also told a one of and I had them together and my arm swelled..don't worry won't last long and never have to have again eh..hugs and your bg be back to where you want it soon. Lots of water and get pampered x
 
The jab can screw your levels as can then worrying about your levels! If it lasts more than a couple of days take a break from testing for at least 24 hours then do a test at the time of day you get your lowest reading preferably after taking a relaxing hot bath while sipping a nice g&t. Don't worry when you were not diabetic and were under the weather your bgs would have likely been raised. It's an entirely normal thing.

Feeling loads better today!

I am loving the suggestions of pampering and gin. Wish you guys were my doctor lol.
