Am I miss reading the carb information, my understanding is that there is less carb intake in a McDonalds double sausage and egg mcmuffin than a 135gm banana

Double sausage and egg McMuffin 30gms carb
Banana 135 gms = 31 gms carb

Think I might be missing something, not considering the obvious vitamins, calories and other health issues, just carbs.

Damned fat fingers...

Unfortunately bananas are the food of the devil for low carbers - they're also my favourite fruit and I hate that I can't have them.
Most mucky d's products don't qualify as great either, although their grilled chicken salad with balsamic dressing was delicious at lunchtime today!

Hi I would go for the banana every time, as I don't eat McDonalds food. I could see why people would go for a McMuffin, but a banana would cost about 30p whereas a McMuffin would cost a lot more ( but I have no idea how much though) so a banana is healthy and saves you money at the same time, no contest then :)

Best wishes RRB

I spend a lot of time on the road, like tomorrow I have a 5.30 start, so its really tempting to dive into mucky macs for brekkie, :D I know its full of other bad things but at 30 carbs it might be a guilty pleasure

I spend a lot of time on the road myself - its not easy finding decent food while out and about and I have neither the time nor inclination to make a " pack up".
Daft as it sounds, a greasy spoon can be a good option for breakfast. Bacon, eggs, mushrooms are ok. Not so good are sausages and baked beans. Not good at all are hash browns and fried bread

I quite enjoy a cooked breakfast. What I tend to do is order the items separately so that for instance I can have mushrooms and/or tomatoes instead of baked beans. Usually I have just one sausage as many are high in carb although one place I go to uses high meat content ones that seem to have little effect on BG and are really tasty as well - then I have two! McDonalds’ breakfasts don’t even look right!

I like your logic, thanks Mark

The effective difference between 30g carb and 31g carb is ZERO. It's not actually possible to measure it so accurately. remember a teaspoonful of sugar weighs about 5 grams
I personally wouldn't ever have that much carb in a single portion of food. Leaving out the muffin would improve the plate.
