Tried my best winter coat on this morning, it's huge. More expense. In the past two weeks I've got 8 new tops, 4 pairs of trousers and 4 new dresses. The upside is I feel sooo much better with less weight.

Well done but I know what you mean.

My weight loss has been in three stages and the first time I started losing weight and my new trousers were practically falling down after two weeks, I decided this was unsustainable.

So when I start losing weight I buy stuff from charity shops and supermarkets. When my weight plateaus/stabilises I treat myself to nicer new clothes and wear them until I start to lose again.

Oh how lovely! I can't wait until I need to buy new clothes.

Carol43 have you thought about eBay for clothes? If you know a particular style you like you can bid. I got a new wardrobe like that when I dropped weight low carbing. My favourite is a 99p winter coat from m&s. I'm still wearing it 2 years later.

I know what you mean! I've lost just over a stone since my diagnosis. I have lots of clothes and a lot I don't wear as I'd got too big and they were too small. My hubby had been nagging me for ages to throw them out and get rid of them. I'm afraid I've hung on them! However, I've now been able to get back into some smart black trousers for work recently, instead of buying two or three new pairs :smug:

I tend to buy a lot of my tops and the odd coat from eBay but prefer to buy jeans and trousers new from a store. I think my weight has plateaued a bit at the moment. :(

I tried a coat on in Asda yesterday, even the size 14 wouldn't go round me and on principle I wouldn't buy a bigger size.. Why are their clothes such a bad fit. Unfortunately I do not have very good charity shops locally it's just a load of rubbish. If I buy from eBay what happens if they don't fit, can you return them?

You can't usually return if you buy via eBay. Some sellers will accept returns but it would cost you to post it back to them for a refund and the refund would be for the actual item only. I usually look at the brand they're selling i.e. Evans, Marks & Spencer etc as some clothes are more generously cut than others.
