Dr Aseem Malhotra - Statins

With a max of 29extra days if my memory serves.
 
And by taking the pill on daily basis for 5 years...I bet you spend more than 4 days worth of hours over that period of time for medicating yourself..nothing gained!

The 4th of May looks even better.

That makes those statins look good to me.
Unless you've done everything you want to do, and you're really bored now I guess?
Personally, I've got a really nice bottle of champagne, and a very nice malt whisky I really don't fancy leaving for my wake.
 
A service user that came into the care home I work in had had a stroke. She told me that the Dr wanted her to take statins and she refused. Outcome was the stroke and was partially unable to mobilise one side of her body. So statins I take, too scared not to, though I've never had a problem with high cholesterol before or now.
 
Hi. If the statin research data was valid you could take it more seriously but is was fiddled (Google the web). Statins reduce total cholesterol rather than improve the LDL, HDL and Trig ratios and ignore the fact that as you age you need more cholesterol for body repairs. There are many who suffer side effects as statins can cause muscle cell degradation (and serious liver inflammation in my wife's case). Malcolm Kendrick's two books make an interesting read. The choice is yours
 
Seems like everywhere I go in my neighbourhood I see otherwise seemingly healthy looking men in their 70's using gophers to "walk" their dogs. I have an internal bet with myself that they're taking statins and the muscles in their legs have been destroyed as a result. Can't think of a tactful way of asking them, though.
 

Could have had a heart attack from not taking them.
As you say though, it's not a polite question.
