Interesting - he supports all sorts of diet plans seems like he will do anything for money Graham. I have had pts on this plan and they pay a fortune - works for a few months and back to the yo yo dieting.

GMTV is just one big advertising plug. I've lost count of the number of "celebrities" who have advertised their weight loss videos on there. The latest one being Denis Waterman's daughter.

If only all this had happened back in the eigthies it could've been a nice little earner for Arthur & Terry. 8)

Hi - it is that time of the year isnt it!

Don't get me started on Mckeith - she is an accountant! Need I say anymore - she is rude and talks C****! I would get struck off for her sort of behaviour!
She purchased a PHd and the British Dietetic Association exposed that - haven't seen her on the TV for a while.
The nutritionist on the GMTV camapaign is excellent - she is also a dietitian and is sensible.

Perhaps he's changed his mind... or?

Took a look at the golower video first, I thought this was interesting seeing a doctor advocate a no-carb ketogenic diet, perhaps opinion is changing in the medical profession.........but hold it!

Read the netdoctor article provided by Pheonix, where the good Dr Jones advises against such diets, saying that low-carb diets are risky! Oh dear............. : :?

It would seem that the promise of a sizeable pay cheque is enough to turn opinions! :lol:

I have been having a look at the go lower site this morning - I have had a few pts use it as they supply the food. It is no different to a number of other companies who supply the ingredients or food for you to re heat . It also supplies cereal bars ( which I have tried and they are simply disgusting and good for your dentist!). The soups are even of a similar nutritional content to an Asda soup in my fridge!

It is a concept that alot of people are trying to develop - shows what a lazy bunch we are becoming. I was contacted a few months ago by a company who wanted my input and tbh I decided to stay out of it.

I work with pts and give them the same advice and recipes - they lose wt and save alot of money and can eat the same as the rest of the families. I cannot find any published success rates and long term results.

Interesting list of consultants - Doctors act as consultants to many health care companies but it doesnt mean that they actually do anything proactive. A company like this one will want to let clients see their names. intersting there is no mention of qualified nutritionists or even a chef - unless I have missed it of course.

Well in my opinion dieting is a lot of croc, for the last 3 weeks all I have had are salad's,homemade soup, (none or very small carbs) and fruit and have lost the grand total of 3lbs WOW!!!!!!!.
Should have stayed of all diabetic medication and kept the symptom of losing weight, at least then I had lost 2 stone.
And yes I go for walks 2/3 times a day.

How then would you suggest thaat those of us(Me) who are overweight, reduce the problem?
I keep my carbs to VERY LOW( but don't actually count them. I lost over 2 stone and then stopped for a year or so, now I've just lost another half stone. Unfortunately, I need to lose a minimum of another 2. My BG is right( always below 6) and I exercise.

I have no idea, as I have done and am doing all that has been suggested on dieting and nothing seems to be working.
As to you, you answered your question yourself, you have lost over 2 and a half stone so you are obviously doing something right.

Me I'm venting frustration as I want to get back down to 12/13 stone and got down to 16 then went back up to 17 and cannot understand why.
