Some 30 years ago my wife and I went on what was called then a, Protein Only Diet. Zero carbs but all the eggs meat cheese etc you wanted. You could only do it two weeks at a time and had to take a multivitamin pill. That had a little bit of a sugar coating. One week into the diet we would crave that pill and its sweetness coursed through the body like a tidal wave. 30 years on and I am staying away from that type of diet, ones where you play with your body's chemistry. I find them, unpredictable so I am cutting down on carbs and fat and being careful. I now get cravings for crunch or things with a bit of bite. Fortunately there are a number of crispbreads with things like sesame seeds added. With lots of different but suitable toppings for them, I find them a suitable alternative to things like crisps. I don't think I could do without any carbs. Certain tastes, textures, smells take you back to your childhood subconsciously and if others around you are having them, you get a craving yourself.
