The breaking of a heart, hurts like mad and depression hits hard.
I am not a drinker myself, but reaching for alcohol when so upset and down, it just adds to the depression, it's a downer, I have seen it so many times, it's a viscous circle.
I hope you can find a coping mechanism that can help you through this sad time, such as going for along walk, taking up a sport, writing in a diary, song lyrics, or writing all the bad, sad things on a piece of paper then tearing it up and putting it in the bin.
