Hi, I have type 1 diabetes and passed my car driving test in 1996, can I drive a horse lorry as I passed before legislation brought in, in 1997 where you need to apply to drive a larger vehicle, or do I still have restrictions due to diabetes? I can't seem to fathom the dvla website!
Thanks for any help!
Suzy

You need a C1 licence (7.5 tonne) which you'll need to apply to the DVLA for, as type 1's we automatically lose this entitlement, if you check your licence it will say what category of vehicles you are allowed to drive.

Depends how heavy the box is and if it is the case you need a C1 licence you can apply to have it reinstated. You need 3 months of blood sugar results and the say so from your consultant for the licence.

When i saw the words "horse lorry". My first tthought was a horse drawn lorry.
I just thought someone might like a giggle
