Driving and being diabetic

My husband is a commercial tyre fitter has been for all his working life a job which he loves.

He is Type 2 Diabetes and is on insulin.

Hes just sorted out his photo driving license but I have major concerns on its return. It states that if he drives a 3.5 tne - 7.5 tne vehicle he needs to apply to have C1 added to his license due to being medically restircted. It also goes on to say that its likely his medical condition will prevent him meeting the higher medical standards.

I am now worrying thats he wont be able to continue with his job, hes on breakdowns and to be honest thats where the money is. In a nutshell if he loses his job then we lose everything. I'm sorry to start on a stressful note but any help/advice would be greatfully appreciated.

Thanks

You can check the regulations on insulin users and restricted licenses on-line
