Hi Martinbuchan, and everyone else who responded. I have actually tried Byetta in conjunction with "Triple Therapy" treatment- Metformin, Amaryl & Glucobay., all at the max dossage. It worked for the best part of a year, but i guess my Pancreas just decided enough was enough, and my levels slowly began to rise no matter how much exersise i did. I work for an F1 racing team, and was a truck driver. Last year i actually spent 3 hours in a gym in Monaco trying to get my levels down to an acceptable level between 5&8. I was appsolutely knackered at the end of it, You could have rung my tee shirt out of sweat! So, you can understand by the job i had, why i will miss it so much. I certainly went to some exotic places, and i really miss it all, including the camarardary i had with the other truckies from other teams. Life can be a bummer at times, but i`m trying not to let it get me down. this is a huge upheaval for me, and the changes are going to be enormous in my working life. Could even mean re training for another post in the team. I can accept, but don`t want to take Diabetes lying down. I don`t want my life to be ruled by it. I`m not going to just curl up and "Come into the light" if you get my meaning. Yes, i know i`ve got it, but it ain`t gonna let it slow me down. Maybe thats the right attitude to have, maybe not, but i refuse to give up on an active life just yet. I`m only 46!
